Ilmatar is a Nordic energy company and Independent Power Producer (IPP) founded
in 2011, focusing solely on renewables. Ilmatar owns its projects throughout their
lifecycle, which can extend up to 40 years. As part of the long-term company
strategy, Ilmatar plans to develop, construct, own and operate offshore wind power in
Finland’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
MIX Research Sweden is currently supporting Ramboll Finland in the permit process for
establishment of offshore wind power north of Åland, performing extensive offshore eDNA
surveys of fish and marine mammals. The data provided will act as a preparation and basis
for the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
