The City of Helsinki has commissioned a study to assess the environment in Botbyviken. The investigations aim to evaluate the impact of the new residential area at Botbystranden on the underwater environment and the beaches in the area.
MIX Research Sweden is currently supporting Alleco Oy in the research by using eDNA to study the presence of fish and mussel species in Botbyviken, as well as the streams that flow into the bay. The information obtained through the studies will serve as a basis for the continued planning of the residential area.
